Socotra

After landing, we will immediately leave the city behind and head toward the reason we flew to the edge of the Arabian Sea. A turquoise lagoon, a snow-white beach, and our first sunset on Socotra. In the evening, we will enjoy a fresh seafood dinner right on the ocean shore, and we will fall asleep to the sound of the waves at our first campsite.

Today we will get our first look at the legendary dragon blood trees. We will walk among plants found only on Socotra, cool off in a natural pool right above the ocean, and in the evening we will climb the giant Arher dunes, where the sand literally descends into the sea. This is one of those landscapes you can never forget.

In the morning, we will head to Socotra's largest cave. Inside, there are vast halls, stalactites, stalagmites, and inscriptions left by sailors hundreds of years ago. And after the trek, a well-deserved rest awaits us at the Dihamri coral reef - one of the best spots on the island for snorkeling.

Today we will head to the Kilisan canyon, hidden within the Momi stone plateau. Here we will find clear turquoise pools, where you can swim and jump into the water from the cliffs. Then we will cross the Difaarhu canyon with its mountain villages, oases, and unusual endemic trees. In the evening, we will climb the giant Hayf and Zaek dunesto watch the sunset over the desert, and we will spend the night on the wild Omaq beach.

Today we head into the very heart of Socotra. We will see the Derhur Canyon, the viewpoints of the Diksam Plateau, and the largest dragon blood tree foreston the island. This is where you will find the iconic trees that made Socotra world-famous and earned it the reputation of being like another planet.

We will visit the small fishing town of Qalansiyah and spend the day at Detwah Lagoon. This is the perfect place to switch off your phone, walk barefoot on the white sand, swim in the ocean, and enjoy the absolute silence. If you like, we can visit the famous Abdullah, who has lived in a cave his entire life.

We will head to Shuab Beach by boat. We are often accompanied by dolphins along the way, and the beach itself is so remote that it can only be reached by sea. Upon our return, we will take a walk through the Ayhaft Canyon, and in the evening we will spend our last night on Socotra in a comfortable hotel.

Before our flight, we will soak up the island's rhythm one last time: we will stop by the local market, pick up some Socotran souvenirs, and head to the airport. The journey home awaits, but we have a feeling our thoughts will remain on this incredible island for a long time to come.
