Madeira

We will meet at Madeira Airport and head to the island's capital, Funchal. Spacious apartments will be waiting for us there, serving as our base for the week. Afterwards, we’ll head to a local restaurant to sample Madeiran delicacies: Espada com banana, Bolo do Caco, and, of course, Poncha.

Today we’re heading off to explore the east of the island—the incredible Ponta de São Lourenço. The views from the cape are truly out of this world, so it’s no surprise that this is where they filmed the latest installment of Star Wars. After that, we’ll head to a beach that’s quite unusual for a volcanic island, because its white sand was imported all the way from the Western Sahara!

We begin exploring the mountainous part of the island — specifically, we'll go canyoning. Then we'll have a delicious meal and feed by hand the birds that live only on Madeira. We'll wrap up the day with go-karting among volcanic cliffs.

A new day, a new adventure – we’re heading out on the main hike of this trip: trekking between two peaks to reach the highest summit, Pico Ruivo. And in the evening, we’ll witness what might be the most beautiful sunset of your life.

Today we’re heading out into the open ocean on a speedboat in search of whales and other marine life. Next up: the Madeiran plateau with its waterfalls and majestic ancient forest, Fanal.

Today we head to the Caldeirão Verde levada, where you can feel like you are in the Amazon. Afterwards, we travel to a picturesque town that Winston Churchill featured in several of his paintings, where we will taste Madeira—the fortified wine that made the island famous around the world.

Finally, we head to the black volcanic beach of Seixal, where we'll swim in lava pools and watch the sunset at the edge of the world.

Today we wrap up our adventure on the Island of Eternal Spring. We say our goodbyes, share some hugs, and start planning our next trips together—because it’s in adventures like these that you find the perfect companions for the journeys ahead!
