Lofoten: Summer

Our adventure begins at the gateway to the Arctic — the city of Tromsø, located above the Arctic Circle! We'll spend our first night here to recover from the journey and take a morning stroll through this Norwegian town.

We'll start our morning slowly, with breakfast by the sea, listening to the cry of seagulls. We hop into the cars and set off on our adventure to explore the most remote corners of the north. Our stop for the next two days will be the island of Senja — the second-largest island in Norway.

The island is called "Miniature Norway" for a reason: it concentrates all the natural features characteristic of the entire country!

After a hearty breakfast prepared by our Norwegian chef, we’ll head out for our first hike: the Devil’s Jaw, climbing up to the highest point on the island — Segla mountain.

We’ll have a picnic on the ridge with the best view of Segla, taking plenty of time to soak in the beauty of the fjords, endless beaches, and the majesty of the Norwegian Sea.

Continuing our journey west, today we reach the first islands of the Lofoten archipelago. Along the way, we will encounter unique northern landscapes and scenic viewpoints overlooking the fjords.

Today is a beach day: we'll drive past unique Norwegian beaches with white sand and turquoise water, and hike into the mountains to find the ones hidden away from tourists. Of course, who are we to skip surfing above the Arctic Circle?!

So grab your board — let's go!

Next, we head further west to the very edge of the Lofoten Islands to see for ourselves the charm of the fishing villages with their iconic red cabins, known as rorbuer. We will visit the village of Reine and hike up Reinebringen mountain, which offers the view featured on all the classic Lofoten postcards.

Today we're in for spectacular kayaking along the Atlantic Ocean coast. Then we'll hike up Mount Reuten! The views from the summit are breathtaking — especially when it comes to Kvalvika Beach with its turquoise water surging over white sand between massive cliffs rising straight out of the ocean.

And we'll definitely make our way down there for a picnic and cool off after the hike!

We head back to Tromsø, stopping along the way at another famous little town with a football pitch nestled between the fjords. We’ll have breakfast here with fragrant cardamom buns, take a walk, and then head to Tromsø for our flight.
