Madeira

We meet up at Madeira Airport and head to the island's capital — the city of Funchal. Spacious apartments await us there, which will serve as our home base for the week. Then we'll head to a local restaurant to sample Madeiran treats: Espada com banana, Bolo do Caco, and of course, Poncha.

Today we'll set out to explore the eastern part of the island — the stunning Cape St. Lorenzo. The views from the cape are simply out of this world, so it's no surprise that another Star Wars movie was filmed right here. Then we'll head to a beach that's quite unusual for a volcanic island — its white sand was shipped all the way from Western Sahara!

We’re starting our exploration of the island’s mountainous region with some canyoning. Next, we’ll enjoy a delicious meal and hand-feed birdsthat are native only to Madeira, and we’ll wrap up the day with go-karting amidst volcanic cliffs.

A new day, a new adventure — we're setting off on the main hike of this trip: passing between two peaks and summiting the highest one Pico Ruivo. And in the evening, we'll catch what just might be the most beautiful sunset of your life.

Today we’re heading out into the open ocean on a speedboat in search of whales and other marine life. Next up: the Madeiran plateau with its waterfalls and majestic ancient forest, Fanal.

Today we head to the Caldeirão Verde levada, where you can feel like you are in the Amazon. Afterwards, we travel to a picturesque town that Winston Churchill featured in several of his paintings, where we will taste Madeira—the fortified wine that made the island famous around the world.

Finally, we head to the black volcanic beach of Seixal, where we'll swim in lava pools and watch the sunset at the edge of the world.

Today we wrap up our adventure on the Island of Eternal Spring. We say our goodbyes, share some hugs, and start planning our next trips together—because it’s in adventures like these that you find the perfect companions for the journeys ahead!
